About Us

ATA Engineering was established in 1963 to service and supply the aerospace industry. Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, we have grown into a leading supplier of aerospace tooling, building a reputation for commitment and innovation.

Founded by Terry Stafford, who trained at Rolls Royce in Derby, the company is now led by Managing Director Mark Whitbread. In 2021, Mark formed ATA Engineering Products Ltd to focus on the core products that have been supplied for decades.

With over 50 years of experience, we specialise in aerospace tooling, CNC routers, router cutters, woodworking machinery, and industrial tools and lubricants. We also stock an extensive range of portable pneumatic tools and accessories for airframe manufacture and repair, including riveting tools, fastener installation tooling, countersinking and spot facing cutters, and more.

Beyond aerospace, we supply high-quality routing and milling cutters for industries such as automotive, pharmaceutical, furniture, and retail. We also offer a range of Pocket Routers designed for continuous production in furniture plants, mobile home factories, and cabinet production. With four models available—including a portable option—our routers provide strong, quick-to-assemble right-angle joints with minimal setup.
